UBIDS TESCON President Denies Suspension Allegations, Cites Due Process Concerns

The President of the Tertiary Students Confederacy of the New Patriotic Party (TESCON) at the University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIDS), H.E Soale Elliasu, has issued a statement regarding his suspension on 26th April 2026.

According to Elliasu Wurche, the suspension was issued without a formal hearing, investigation, or opportunity to respond, raising serious concerns about due process and fairness. He clarified that he did not sidelined his patron, explaining that he made several attempts to reach the patron through calls, messages, and the Dean of Students.

The Dean of Students facilitated a meeting with the patron, during which Elliasu presented documents detailing event preparations, including venue securing. The patron approved the documents and instructed their submission to the Dean for completion of necessary processes.

Elliasu emphasized using personal resources to support TESCON activities, including the contested event. He rejected allegations against him as inaccurate and misleading, attributing the event's cancellation to the inclusion of certain regional executives—a decision he supported for unity.

He affirmed commitment to truth, unity, and TESCON's growth, promising to reference TESCON's rules and regulations (Constitution) to substantiate his position. Elliasu called for focusing on building together rather than dividing the organization.

The statement concludes with an appeal for fairness and adherence to due process in student leadership matters at UBIDS.
